Hi there! I’m Jaimie, a writer, video creator, and fact-checker based in Ottawa. My work focuses on the arts: from ballet and dance, to books, film, and video games.

My writing is expressive, vivid and detailed, allowing me to create intriguing and thought-provoking reviews and articles. I have a particular fondness for live performance and capturing its unique magic. My work has been published in The Dance Current, The WholeNote, and TD Toronto Jazz Festival.
Through video, I create engaging stories with clean edits.
As an editor, videographer and writer, I help craft complex topics into digestible videos with bright and compelling visuals. I have created video for Capital Current’s current affairs show: The 25th Hour, The Dance Current, and the Italian Contemporary Film Festival.
The same attention to detail that I bring to my video editing and filming also translates to my work as a freelance fact-checker, where I effectively verify articles to ensure a high standard of accuracy before publication.
I graduated in 2017 from the University of Guelph-Humber’s Media Studies program, and I am currently completing my Master of Journalism at Carleton University. The technical and editorial skills that I have learned, along with the knowledge of the digital media industry that I’ve gained from both programs complement each other well; allowing me to create effective journalistic content in an increasingly digital-first industry.
